Weigh Day Support

Weigh Day calculates ADG as the slope of a best-fit line through your recent weigh-ins, not just the difference between the first and last weights. The result is pounds gained per day. Using the slope means one odd reading, like a weigh-in taken right after the animal drank, won't throw your number off much.

You need at least two weigh-ins on different days to get an ADG. Weighing at the same time of day, on the same scale, gives the most reliable trend.

The projection takes your latest weight and adds your recent ADG times the number of days left until the show's weigh-in. Weigh Day then compares that projected weight to the show's class weight window, keeping a safety margin of 15% of the window's width at each edge:

• Push feed: the projection lands below the minimum, or within the margin just above it.
• Hold: the projection lands above the maximum, or within the margin just below it.
• On track: the projection lands comfortably inside the window.

Weigh Day also shows the daily gain you need to land in the middle of the window. The verdict updates every time you add a weigh-in. It's a guide, so talk over big feed changes with your parent, club advisor or county extension agent.

Each show has its own weigh-in date and a minimum and maximum weight for each species. Open Show day, pick the show and tap Weight windows (or go to Barn → Season and tap the show). Copy the numbers from your fair's premium book. Then open the animal in Barn → Season and choose it as the target show. The gain chart and verdict follow each animal's target show.

On the Feed screen, Weigh Day works out what the ration has cost since pickup: pounds fed per day times the price per pound of each bag, for every day each feed was in the ration. It divides that by the pounds gained (latest weight minus pickup weight). For example, $180 of feed across 90 lb of gain works out to $2.00 per pound of gain. The same numbers give you feed-to-gain.

When you change how much you feed, keep the old amount in history so past days stay accurate. The Ledger separately shows cost per pound of gain from the receipts you log there.

Open Ledger for the animal and tap Share. Weigh Day builds a record card and a plain-text summary with purchase price, feed, vet and supply totals, gain figures and expected sale price. Share either one through the iOS share sheet to save it to Files or Photos, print it, or send it to a parent or advisor to copy into your record book. Nothing is shared unless you do it.

1. Open the iOS Settings app, go to Notifications → Weigh Day, and make sure Allow Notifications is on.
2. Make sure the reminder itself is turned on in Weigh Day and set for the right time.
3. Check that a Focus mode or Do Not Disturb isn't silencing the app.
4. If you turned notifications down the first time you were asked, you can only turn them back on in iOS Settings.

Reminders are scheduled on your iPhone, so they work without an internet connection.

Diary photos are copied into Weigh Day's private storage, so deleting a picture from your Photos library won't remove it from the diary. To get a photo out, open it in the diary and tap the share button. From there you can save it back to Photos, put it in Files, or send it to someone. To move a photo to a different animal, save it to Photos, add it to the other animal's diary, then delete the original entry.

Go to Barn → Settings → Erase this season and confirm. This permanently removes that season's animals, weigh-ins, feed, ledger, chores, checklists and photos from your device. We can't recover anything once it's erased, so export your record-book totals and save any photos you want to keep first.

Weigh Day keeps everything on your device. Nothing is stored on our servers, and there's no account to sign in to. Your Weigh Day data is part of your iPhone's regular backups (iCloud Backup or a backup to your computer). When you restore a new iPhone from that backup, your barn book comes with it.

If you don't back up your iPhone, deleting the app or losing the phone means losing the data. Turning on iCloud Backup during show season is a good idea.

Yes. Add as many animals and shows as you need for the season. Each animal has its own weigh-ins, feed log, ledger, diary and checklists, and each show has its own date and weight window. The rail on the left always shows the days left for the animal you are following.
